Mission Statement / Scope of Responsibilities
MCEDD's mission is to promote the creation of family-wage jobs, the diversification of the economic base, and the growth, development and retention of business and industry within the five-county district. MCEDD's development goals and objectives continue to help the region's rural communities find resources to assist in their own development, promote private sector expansion and employment, and identify weaknesses while taking advantage of their opportunities and strengths.

Coordination
MCEDD plays in important role in the coordination of efforts within the region, providing a one-stop information clearinghouse ensuring access to information and programs.

Business Assistance
MCEDD operates a Revolving Loan Fund to provide long-term, low interest financing for business expansion needs throughout its five-county region. MCEDD also provides loan packaging assistance to access other State and/or Federal finance programs.

Technical Assistance
MCEDD provides planning, grant writing and coordination assistance to agencies with economic development projects throughout the five-county region. These projects have ranged from feasibility and market studies to sewer and water system improvements and other infrastructure projects.
